I cropped this in PS from Horizontal landscape to vertical landscape. I had managed to get some good detail in the darker areas to the side, as I was after the reflection in the pool, but I am afraid that came at the expense of overexposing the cliffs out yonder. I am not sure what I could have done to remedy this. Ideas welcomed. some minor contrast changes made in PS.
Duplicate the layer, (ctrl+j), invert the luminosity of the duplicate (ctrl+i), put it in soft light mode, and give it a 9.0 gaussian blur. To apply the effect to only a certain area, you have to select and cut the unwanted part. Voilą!
To overcome the troubles of overexposion you might try a polarization filter. The blue sky will get darker, the clouds more present. Otherwise a nice composition.... Regards, Kees
