I agree about the yellow spot being distracting but when I removed it, I missed it. That yellow is the only reference to normal sunflower yellow. The colours in the realm of the sunflower are so strange, I wanted to show, or at least remind myself, they are true to life.
I struggled with this picture a bit, thinking like John that the DOF should have been a bit deeper. While I didn't record the info I remember this being as close as the 995 will go. A working distance on macro in the middle of the zoom range of approx 2 cm or .08 inches. I'm not sure what sort of magnification that gives me. Anybody else know?
The shot is handheld using the surface of the sunflower to stabalize the camera. (yes I was careful not to damage it) I used an automatic exposure and autofocusing with the prefocus/pre-exposure lock set and no EV adjustment used.
The shot was sharpened, resized and framed in PSP as are all my posts, and in this case no contrast or colour enhancements were employed.
