Hmmmm. I'm one of the folks who subtlely demanded I see a b&w version. Not so sure about this version, which does not seem to have as much contrast nor as defined highlights. Perhaps the color added definition that is being lost in the conversion. If you use PS channel mixer to convert, I might suggest a different method, to attempt and bring out some more of the details that were seemingly flattened in the conversion. Don't give up on this one -- I still strongly believe b&w will ultimately prove to be more powerful, but I don't think you're quite there yet.

Like its colored version which Mister Caldwell posted earlier, this stunning photograph greatly resembles heroic 1930's photographs, especially those of artworks connected with the 1939 World's Fair, and communicates some of their optimism about the possibilities of technology.
