City - Dava Moor State - MORAY / SCOTLAND Country - United Kingdom
About
It's a funny thing with human nature that we always crave the opposite of what we've been given. In the summer I crave the return of snow in Spring I long for Autumn colour and of course come the winter everyone yearns for Spring, so consider this my signing off image for winter.
When I came across this magnificent frosted birch tree on a dazzling bright winter's day high on Dava moor, the freezing mist still enveloped the tree and was responsible for the incredible build up of ice crystals on every twig and branch. Once it retreated the crystalline splendour and the absolute stillness of the minus twenty degree temperatures seemed to leave the entire moor in a state of cryogenic suspension. It really was awe inspiring.
