Splendid photo. A completely black background would have made the flower seem to float disconnected. The green suggestion in the background "plants" the image (pardon the pun).

Kevin, Thank you for your comment. I'm glad you liked it, I am still trying to get the hang of digital, it does not respond the same as film or so it seems to me.
