Beautiful shot Dave,
I much prefer this dark background to the last one that I commented on. For some reason the actual flower is more pleasing to me as well. I don't know anything about Orchids anyway, so my opinion doesn't mean a heck of a lot. But I do like this shot!

A bit of overexposure on the inner petals of the flower, and a bit of focus loss on the outer bottom left petal Dave, but still a good and detailed capture of it. Especually the contrast to the dark rich green of the background makes the flower look so prominent!

Excellent macro and the focus into the ""mouth"" of the flower hahaha... it's a beautiful flower and very good the darkness as background here... it 'support' the flower very well my friend...
