Suzanne, to effectively portray depth in an image there has to be some form of relationship to something. Size, perspective, or focus. None of these elements are here. We have no idea how big the rocks are nor how big the far tree is. There is nothing in the image to suggest that these elements are anything other than small objects. One way you could have approached it is to have put the focus on the model herself and everything else out of focus. That would give some illusion of depth. The tonalk range here is veryu restricted too. Everything just sort of blends in together. Nothing separates the model, the focus of the image, from all else in the frame.
