Brilliant composition, very nicely devided from foreground to back and sky.Well proportioned. I may be a bit nit-picky here but the coast line seems a bit tilted. A little bit distracting, to me.:) But still a great panarama. Nice Job

That's one of the great things about the 5D, you can do panoramic crop like this and still have lots of resolution for a great image. I did the same thing with a family of Canada Geese last summer. Joe

Hi Joe,
first off let me say thank you for your kind words. To answer the question of the lens. Yes, it was the 70-200mm F4.0. on my original shot I had cropped off a lot of the top of the photo because it didn't add anything to the shot except more dark clouds. So when I cropped into pano format it made it seem more like a 17-40mm F4.0. I wish that I had a wide angle lens when I was over in Kauai.
Best Regards
Sam III

Thanks my Friend. You are right about the text font. It looked ok before I added the drop shadows and I forgot to go back and resize it. I have since made the changes to the original. thanks for pointing that out for me.

The full panoramic view of this image is fantastic. This is a great seascape. The colours are wonderful, the composition superb, I like the rain cloud in the distance. Excellent use of the 5D but are you sure you listed the correct lens, this shot looks much wider than 70mm? Very well captured. 7++++++++++ All the best, Joe

This is beautiful Sam . . . the green in the water and the blue in the sky make for some wonderful accents on an otherwise dull and colorless seascape. The encroaching weather from the left steals detail, clarity and color as it moves to the more vibrant right side on the composition . . . and the surf has provided some good dynamic action.
The composition is uniquely layered with four unequal bands on the right side and a disparate banding on the left thanks to the weather.
Clearly I'll not complain about the framing . . . but the text font size seems a little bit large and provides a distraction . . . were it JUST a tad smaller . . .it would center easier between the image and the frame drop shadows easier as well.
Good stuff!
Regards, Doyle I <~~~~~
