Nice work, I like the abstract nature, yet there is enough detail to keep a perspective on the nature of the subject. the back lighting effect is particularly interesting.

Great B&W subject, but I can't agree with the white hot area. Kes, this may be a good study for blending multiple exposures. Eb

Hi Andre, Oh, yeah, this is just a "salvage" shot. That's what I call it when I shoot it wrong and then try and make something out of it! :)
Those bright areas are completely blown out and there is no detail there to grab. That was actually sky above the rock...rotate this 45 degrees to the right and you have the correct view. As you note, with the other shots all the light is reflected from the sources (the blue-sky-light is reflected too, but you get what I mean).
It's been a long time since the movies "Alien" and "Cocoon" were out, but they may have had some influence on my "salvage" perspective and title. :) Kes

Hi Kes, I like the texture and tone of the rocks in this one. But I feel that the strong light in this one is not as effective as the soft light in the two colour versions previously posted. The light seems a bit harsh in this one and blots out any detail in that area. Maybe something like this with sunrays and smoke in that lighted area? Isn't hindsight a wonderful thing? Andre

Always love to see rocks- each so unique- and so is this image! To see the shapes and textures with amazing light.
