A really lovely shot, Jessie. It fits its category beautifully. I love the pastels and the composition. I do wish the reflection had been more complete, and I think cloning away the blurry branches at the top would help. I've appended a cloned version.

riny - great crop! i like it! i like it both ways. i also tried to crop out (after reading people's comments here) the bush on the lower right. it didn't look as good, i thought, without the white trees reflecting. thank you!

thanks, ray. aren't we lucky?? yes, this is at our cottage. our cottage is MUCH more scenic than our home on a lake, but if we live in the boonies here, the cottage is even MORE boonies. ;)

This is a breathtaking sight and so mouthwateringly beautiful my dear Jessie. The ripple free water has faithfully reproduced a stunning reflection of this glorious scene. What a lucky girl to live with this in your own back yard. Gorgeous tones, excellent details and a lovely misty moody atmosphere. Well done to you sweetie. I like the framing provided by the black tree trunks in the foreground. Very serene mood established by the mist and low angle light.
I wonder how this would print, however, and if the image would benefit by a little bit more contrast?
It's a beautiful, poetic shot. More contrast might detract, rather than add...

Hello Jessie,
I like that you've left the colours natural. It would be tempting to increase the saturation for sure in this image, to really bring out the autumn leaves. The result would be pleasing, I'm sure, but I also think there is something to be said for un-altered images. The atmosphere of the photo would be changed too, and I like it as it is.
I find the two tree trunks on the left side to be quite distracting, and this picture may be improved if they weren't there. And since this is a 'critiquer's corner' image, I will be very picky and also suggest that the leaves in the lower right corner are also a distraction, although a minor one.
Over-all, a lovely image and a good photo.

looks like your wish came true jessie... a blue sky, multi-colored leaves, reflected in the calm still waters, and majic SUN everywhere ! It's a beautiful image and a beautiful place to live ! Excellently composed, and crystal clear.
