roger - thank you! yes, we are so lucky - all of this right out our door. we pay for it in other ways, though - our town is pop 800! here, we call them water lilies, although they may very well be a lotus (??)....i love waterlilies - i'll try to put up more photos of them. it is hard to get the white right, with the sun so bright, isn't it?

i am waiting, waiting, waiting for my new camera to come today!! nikon d80!!

Here on the boring Kanto Plains the sea is hours of driving away, and the mountains are a rim on the horizon. I envy you your lovely lakes, and your lilies (or are they lotuses?). You may want to reduce the exposure a little (if that is possible) to get more detail in the whites. It sure suits the project! Well done.

hi michele!! you are RIGHT - we DO live on a lake. my family also has a cottage up north in michigan - my great-great grampa built it. it is pretty rustic but of course one of the places i have grown up with/in! it is funny that we leave our regular house to go to a more rustic house on another lake sometimes. my husband doesn't get it, but i just say, FAMILY! :)

ah, you know i love love love lilypads. you'll be seeing a lot more of them from me. haha.

thanks! i am glad to be back home.
