About another kayaking photo - do you think that it is less distracting to have the neighboring reeds around??

Here the reflection is very good, in fact it is so good that if you look for awhile, it almost appears that the reed/leaf is almost a full circle and is not actually part of the water. While it is a good picture, I much prefer the one with the other reeds as I feel that it has much more feeling in the picture.

This is so engrossing! Great idea. Wonderful to see refections and the ripples.

thanks, dave! isn't it crazy, move the camera a teensy bit and you have a whole different scene.

They are both completely different shots jessie.. IMO
In this shot the reeds look almost like some alien form surfacing the lake because the reflection is so strong... I really like it tho , and after my eyes adjusted it looks totally natural ...( not like any alien floating ) It's the reflection is so strong...It's very interesting ... holds your interest which is a good thing right ?
I like this very much jessie... I think I like it better because of the reflection.
Good shot !

I like the composition in this one, Jessie, almost a minimalist presentation. Both photos have their individual strengths and are very good in their own ways.
Dave.
