Thank you for your two cents James :) I love feedback!!! I agree that monitors with their many variations are often problematic for viewing photos. I mean, I have no idea how you see this one of "Legs". It is a sharp photograph and on my monitor/s it appears very sharp. The only softening done in PS was smoothing the "grain" (texture of her stockings) on her legs, and also the shadow under her chin. I really do appreciate your comments, James, and thank you again.
Warmest Wishes, Aniko :)

Ok, yeah. What I'm seeing that I don't like is probably a combination of its being high key and soft focus (or softened--so the details are less sharp).
I have to look hard at it to find details and it's a bit bright for doing that. This is at least in part a problem with viewing photos on monitors.
As a print this shot might be best as you have processed it. I don't know. Monitors make this more neutral (that is to say one must stay away from certain extremes that prints don't have to obey).
Well, there you have my two cents.

High key is an extremely light image, often to the point of washing out most details aside from essential ones. This shot is fairly high key. Wrre the model wearing white dress and shoes, it would be VERY high key. It has to do with the "burnt out" look, which can be achieved by lighting or other means. Low key is just the opposite. An example of a low key image is posted below for you, though the side lighting would posibly be considered to be "rim lighting" or heavy shadow and light. You see what I mean though - only essential details remain within both high and low key images. :)

Dear James:
I am not sure what you mean by "a little soft to my eyes"... too high key??? Or... ???
I also have many dark shots but that's OK! I like to stir in a mix of different images, subject matter, dark, light, inbetween etc.
Thank you for your interest and comments which I appreciate greatly.
Warmest Wishes, Aniko :)

Yeah, a little soft to my eyes. But a quick scan of my portfolio will reveal a lot of dark shots, so keep that in mind.

Oooh, it's MY taste. (maybe because I'm a 'leg man'). ;)
I DO like how the higher contrast causes her upper leg to blend into the background, making it feel more like a line drawing.
