About "Wish I could be in your heart
to be one with your love.
Wish I could be in your eyes
looking back where we were..."

~Excerpt from Moody Blues lyrics ~

Cropped in and "softened" in Neat Image, tone balanced in PS.
Shot under diffused tungsten 100 watt lamp in my home studio.
Image is scanned from print.
I have been looking at a few shots from this session as I have no models at the moment! I like this model very much, so am "playing" with a few of her portraits, until I go on to something totally new :)

Any constructive comments graciously accepted. Thank you for looking.

"Wish I could be in your eyes" Great! and such a beautiful girl too. I like this pic and the others of her. It reminds me of a lyric in German I heard some time ago: "I wish for one day, one hour or even one second I could look through your eyes..."

I am so pleased you see my deliberate intention with this portrait, and even more pleased that you like it. :)

You are sweet Bill!

I don't feel I deserve your high praise, and am humbled by it. Thank you...

My accomplishments come about not so much through having so little equipment... in fact I have a lot of equipment! It's just that it's all old! LOL! :) :) :)
Sometimes I borrow digital cameras, but still prefer the old film cameras and the simplest lighting set ups etc. I find it a stimulating challenge! And my ancient version of PS and Coral are also fun (when they co-operate... smae as when my scanner is in a good mood and co-operates... lol...)
Neat Image is new to me, and I only have the free trial version. My good friend Paul Lara, (here in UF), put me onto it. I am still working on a low key portrait using that programme, but I have so little time! Ah well.. It will happen when it happens! :)

Warmest Regards my Friend,
Aniko :)

Dear Aniko ...I love the tilt of this models head and her skin tones are perfect ..so soft and yet deliberate... I do like the tight crop as well - The B+W is nice and a bit of shadow makes this portrait superb for me :))
Big Hugs to You.....Michele~

Dear Aniko, From my contact with you here an UF I believe you are a very nice and highly intellegent person and wish the very best to you. I think your work is excellent and blows me away to find that you accomplish so much with so little equipment. BILL

Thank you Dear Bill!

Nick and I have had a long standing more or less "fun" arguement over so many of my images. Really, this last time, I thought he was indeed playing, and responded in like.
However, his final insults against me are not, to my way of thinking, funny in the least, as so ends "play".

I am very fortunate to have wonderful friends here in UF. I never expect anyone to praise my work, but to give sincere criticisms that are constructive and not nasty.

No one can please everyone. I do my best to be as objective when viewing and commenting on other people's images as is possible for my subjectivity to do!

I always stand up for myself and also for others that I feel are being treated in an unjust manner.

That is my nature.

Thank you again, Bill...
My fondest Wishes,
Aniko :)

Hi Aniko, In reference to your final answer to NICK, I'm so proud of you for standing up for yourself. His remarks were very un-necessay and rude. Keep up the good work and you will have many friends in UF. BILL NAGY

I did not name anything a "Nick special"... Look at your prior comment which I happily copy and paste here for you to see.... these are your words:

"You could simply attach the original image to your reply, which is a very reasonable way for exchanging techniques, let others know how something special can be achieved, and so on.

Nick"

See? You mentioned the word "special", which was a surprise to me and therefore I merely echoed you, in a questioning sense, (which it appears as though you took out of context). I don't understand what you're on about, really!!! And apparently you have no understanding of me either.

You are not correct in stating that "everybody else readily does it in the wish to exchange his/her techniques, discuss about them, learn etc."
I did clearly explain the simple procedure of having cropped and softened the image using the "neat image" programme, tone balancing in PS, and also explained exactly how the image had been made orginally, what type of lighting was used etc.

There is no need to attach the original (and it is absurd for you to make such a statement as "if there has ever been one"... Obviously there is an original or there would be no image at all...!!!)I am keeping no secrets. I have shared the way in which the image presented here was created. I don't mind if you don't like it. However, I will not tolerate your blatent rudeness. I told you I would only "argue" with you in the spirit of fun... You have way passed any semblence of fun, and I will not be insulted by you or anyone else. You are not offering constructive cricism, which is, in my opinion the purpose of this forum. Also, I don't know what you consider a "flatminder" to be. And I don't really care.

From now on, please refrain from commenting on any of my images. I will be ignoring you entirely from this day forth. There is a nothing "fun" about your nastiness, and I don't waste my time on people who deliberately set out to be nothing but hurtful.

Good bye Nick!

Aniko

You can do whatever you want, but naming the attachment of the original image a "Nick special" deviates form the truth. If it is a special, then it is an "Aniko special" since everynody else readily does it in the wish to exchange and let other understand his/her techniques, discuss about them, learn, etc.

Now, you neither seem to care about such things, nor you seem to have the knowledge about such things, nor you seem to understand that this is a forum for interested people that want to meet virtually and exchange minds instead of collecting as much as possible of the usual "wow, what an image!". So you escape into such silly jokes with which you think that you can convince somebody about something.

So keep your original (if there has ever been one) to your secrets) and keep on making such jokes. I don't waste my time with flatminders.

Nick

Ah... Nick... "special"... ???

I could indeed attach the "original"... however, since I know you love to argue.... NO! Hehehe...

Without malice and in the spirit of FUN... OK?

Best Wishes,
Aniko :)

You could simply attach the original image to your reply, which is a very reasonable way for exchanging techniques, let others know how something special can be achieved, and so on.

Ah Nick! I "caught you"... hehehe... Knew I would.

So let the games begin! :)

Yes... I still have the unsoftened and uncropped version. However, I am not going to post it, as this is the one I chose to post. :)

For me, this is the effect I wanted, and enjoyed the simple pp work. Having cropped it in so tight, there was too much grain, and to me, it made the image "hard", which was not the look I was after.

Nothing is to everyone's "taste".

Thanks for yor comment, Nick:)

All the best!
Aniko :)

Do you still have the original undoftened version, Aniko? This kind ps afterwards softening doesn't really do it. It doesn't have that natural brilliance of reflections in the refraction zones, so much is of it's look gets too sterile. I can imagine that the original was a good one especially because of the very "quite" look.

All the best,

Nick

Dear Bill!

You are always too kind to me!
Thank you my friend.

Lighting is one of my favourite parts of photography. :) In Hungarian, afer all, the word for photography "fenykep" literally translates to "light picture". :)

Thank you and I am almost ready for bed at 4:00am! Work has me very busy and at all odd hours.

Thank you Dear Claudia!

I have so little time lately...
I have been saying this for months... it is the truth!
I miss all my UF friends, and also miss the time for making photographs.

Your kind comments are always appreciated and I will do my best to visit you as I can. It is already nearly 4:00am here... and I am getting tired, after working very long hours.

My Best Wishes to you!
