About
I have been hanging out at various ranches for the last few weeks getting a little taste of the cowboy within. I went on a horse buying trip with a ranch owner looking at wild unbroken horses. What I thought was interesting from a novice perspective and a artist eye was opposite from what the horse buyer was interested in. I was looking for the odd looking ones and the buyer was looking for the perfect one.....ha-ha. This bunch were very bold and I was so involved with shooting the shot that I didn't notice that I was surrounded by these horses. The breeder said " hey better back up they are getting to close, If something spooks them you could get kicked or worse". Then she clapped her hands and made a shooing motion with a slap in the face of the boldest one. They backed off just a bit. Hmmmm....then my fear set in....lol. All these horses were unbroken wandering wild through the huge fields of Saskatchewan.
What an experience...wild, free horses! Some wonderful shots. But you are the landscape artists to be sure. Great lens, eh? I just got the Tokina version yesterday. Will test it thoroughly in the next few days. I'm off to do a show in Scottsdale AZ this weekend. CHEERS!
