The color work does make this one a bit ominous.

Greg, firstly, it's very different! It has a very moody and dramatic feel to it! I, almost, feel a sense of doom! I say, 'well done' - it gets the imagination working!
Cheers

Well Greg, you have gone for some very unusual toning in this arty kind of composition and I guess it adds to the eerie feeling you get by looking at it. I like that as an effect but I am not keen on the vignette personally, though having stated that the vignette looks good on the R/H side where the trees are it just looks wrong on the other side> My opinion and I'm hardly ever right:):) The compostion without postwork would still evoke a wonderful moody atmosphere. Cheers Greg....all the best ...Ray

I really like the composition and your placement of the elements. Your title is very appropriate for this. The darkness level suits your title and does create an eerie mood. The thing about this is I think with different levels of brightness and tones and different titles, the mood could be quite different and effective. Keep playing. MAry

I like the postwork you've done here. I don't think it's too dark, I think it needs to be darker in order for the green to stand out. It could use a slight sharpening though.

Wow Greg - this is a really spectacular shot - very rewarding.
Reminds me of those days living on the Island - waving at the boats as they sped on by!
Thanks so much for sharing.

your picture is very perfectly composed in excellent mood and atmosphere... I just made it a bit brighter and balanced the contrasts (as a bit too dark and dull for my monitor, others may find it perfect:)) - s. my version attached. I never use photoshop, but photofiltre (www.photofiltre.com), which is a small, simple, free and for my needs perfectly working programm. (another community, where pictures like yours would be in best ambient, is www.altphotos.com - but all photoshopping is strictly prohbited there:))
