Yes, I would agree with Kathleen on this. Plus the shadows from the trees intermingling with the tatoo, confuse me a bit. But interesting all the same. If you consider the subject is the hook in his back. Then the photo makes a lot of sense. Maybe change the title to 'hooked'. *grin* Yeah, changed what my rating was going to be. Higher on composition if you consider that subject.

It makes me wonder...Have we found a new form of capital punishment. The only problem seems to be that sentencing is self inflicted!
I posted 2 new photos for you to view. I would love your comments.
Thanks.

I like the subject matter. I think the composition would be improved if the rest of the foreground subject's back had been included - since the depth of field is shallow and the background subject isn't in focus, it's not exactly clear that there is a suspension taking place in the background. If there was another hook in the foreground subject's back, it would be good to step back just a bit and include that to make the dynamic between the two guys more apparent.

Overall, it's a decent image. With a little bit of a change of composition and depth of field, it'd be great.

Photo not terribly interesting. As a journalistic photo this image does not stand on its own because its point is not clear. There is no intensity, largely because it is a static image with no movement or facial expression to give mood or emotion. if the purpose of the photo is to show the piercings and tattoo of the individual than this should be made clearer by focusing on those elements, and not the scene as a whole. The stooping individual out of focus in the background adds little to the photo, as does the disconnected hand. Is the hand connected to someone being assaulted. Again, the image lacks clarity.

hmm..a lot of distracting elements here. whatever is hanging on his back seems to fade in its significance just as his tattoos look faded...
