Thanks Hugo - again very valid comments. The light effect on the chicken was due to the overdoing of the shadow/highlight tool in PS - leading to the halo oround it. The doorframe - well I think you are correct. Did exactly that with the second upload "After school" and it does look better. Thanks agian for highly valued inputs.

Hi Joggie,

Very nice split composition, the touch of interaction and boredom, not including you in the scene by eye contact is a very good touch IMO. Good colourful scene.

It somehow does look as if you spent a considerable time on the chiken - but reading your about counters that. Strange, the tonal range in the chicken seems different from the rest of the photo.

Another thing that strikes me is the horizontal alignment of the clay house, with the slanted doorframe - I think if you'd aligned the doorframe with the vertical, the tilt in the red horizontal line could've passed as a perspective thing. Then again, the crooked way of building might even be a more plausible explanation... Good shot!

Cheers,

Hugo

A striking image and wonderful for me to see and learn such things Joggie. You certainly captured his life there.

I love the balance to this composition and it is my favourite of the two. Great colour and details. Again, much as I hate interfering with a shot in PS I would have straightened the hoizontal a little Joggie. Not like me to nit pick. First class candid/informal portrait non-the-less..I like it a lot. Best wishes on your travels....Ray

Nice rural "street" photo. I like the seeming visual dynamic of the boy and chicken and the vibrant colour. Great!

Dear Joggie,

Two wonderful new street pictures from you ! Personally, I like this one more, simply because it has much less distractions, and concentrates more on the main subject of the photo!

The other one, IMHO, would look much better if you had cropped the top part, leaving out the junk on top of the asbestos sheet.

all the best,
Avi

I prefer this one Joggie for the beautiful uniformity and matching of the all complementary colours and then for the spontaneity of the life scene.
Ciao.

What I receive from this photo is a great sense of life in this region. The loneliness of the boy, amongst the bright colors of his home but yet a sadness in him is so evident. He looks so bored, even ignoring a potential playmate.

Great job, Joggie. This photo is just very thought provoking.

Best wishes,
Dave

is very impressive, love the reddish details.
