Chris, I think that this is a splendid portrait, full of depth and character. I am glad that you kept the color balance as is (many would have corrected it), for the golden tone is so appropriate for the subject. I also love the disappearing of the black hair and cloak into the background, giving a sense of emergence. The serene expression is beautifully captured and the composition is very effective, with that surrounding negative space. Really a wonderful portrait. Outstanding work.
Nice pic, Chris, and perfectly titled! I like how you used the negative space to enhance his isolation. He seems alone and lost in his thoughts. The profile works well. Great image!
