This is the kind of stuff Delta 3200 is good for. I've pushed it and got gobs more grain, more than I expected. I see your perspective of the train hurtling out of the night - the clock is sort of it's headlight. I really like the shot. The 17mm lens makes it what it is. Nice. I noticed you said you were a novice printer. You'd have lots of fun selectively burning and dodging this one I'd suppose.

Marc, thanks again for your comment, I'm glad you like this shot. I'm a total novice printer - perhaps I will work on this image again, and learn from the process of getting a better print! Chris

I think you have quite a good light here, and a very strong angle. The print or scan would need to be fine-tuned with more details in the shadows, but overall it works. I think this may be one of your best uploads so far. Regards.

Cool shot. The lighting is terrific and there is a sense of "movement" like you said, Chris. I bet that sense would be heightened if you cropped the other way and cut out the sky above the building completely just as the word "Ivy" is cut out of the frame.

My thoughts..Way Cool! Love the sharp focus on the words. Love the lights. Love the angle.

Kim, Thanks for your comment - you are quite right the little bit of extra sky looks better - it's even in the original print! Doh. I know where it went though, my print was squint on the paper, so I rotated it post-scan and cropped. Oops there goes the sky! I hadn't actually noticed how much of the effect was lost as a result. Will be uploading another view of this incredible building tonight I think. Will add a less butchered scan as a comment here later. Cheers Chris.

This vantage point really creates a great feeling of this massive looming building! You've got nice contrast, as well as nice hortizontal framing. I played with it in PS to see if my instinct of wanting a touch more sky at the top was right, and I think that if you ever shoot this again, just add a tiny bit of space between roof and sky and it will add to the massiveness (is that a word?? *grin*). I've attached my playing around for you to have a look.
