When I was at the Tour de France last year, I made similar experiences with unsharp pics. Did you shoot with autofocus? Then I don't think it's your fault. The AF ist too slow for that. I will shoot manual prefocused the next time. I also have cycling pics from last year in my portfolio.

Thanks Heiko. He does match the photo of Michael Rich. I shot this at 1/1000s and f/6, but it was handheld (200mm on DSLR), so I may have flinched or simply was not able to maintain focus (manual).

Cycling is really hard to shoot. These guys are so fast. Personally I think the faces could be a little sharper. Maybe the right guy is this one: http://www.gerolsteiner.de/index.php?id=1759

well, mister ken,... a very nice snapshot, the face are so big in the ful frame.. a nice idea also for the sqaure format.. and the little blurry! i like it, the race are always many colored.. ciao roby
