OK, John, that's it I'm throwing this darn Hasselblad away! I can't take a stinkin' level image!!! I'm off to the optomitrist for a check up in the morning!! :)
I know, lets blame it on a bum level! JUST KIDDING!!!
OH... the bubble has to be in the middle.... LOL....

:)
I'm sorry I mentioned it. My sight and hearing may be fading, but I still know how to use a ruler and perhaps now we have discovered the real problem. John, maybe it's time for some reading glasses.
Seriously, the image is tilted 1 degree down on the right. Not that it matters. The photograph is perfect the way it is. In fact, I put the image in PSP and corrected it and I like this version better. I'd hang it on my wall in a heartbeat.

No this is a rangefinder and does not have a grid screen available. I use the grid for my EOS 1V.

do they make an interchangable viewing screen with horizontal and vertical lines etched in it? i know some SLRs do this (that being built into mine was the selling point for me:)). anyway, great shot, colors are very pleasant.

Ok... Your going to think I'm nuts but I just got a ruler out and measured from the horizon to the top of the image and it IS LEVEL! Could it be an illusion?

Yes John the level is a bit small and in addition I find myself squinting to see it with my glasses off! It's stinks to get old...

Don't you hate how small they make those bubble levels. Maybe you should invest in a regular grade construction level from your local hardware store. Like you need something else to carry, eh?

John, Thank you. Yup the horizon is off just a bit. You probably know that the XPAN comes with a bubble level and I use it for every shot. I've found I need to really check to make sure it is dead center as the Xpan will exaggerate the error! The camera was still quite new for this image.

Wow. Great stuff! No cropping going on here folks. Just a man who knows how to use a great camera really, really well.
Enough with the compliments. John; your horizon is off although balanced out nicely by that dramatic sky.

Hi John
I like the cropping on this one (being a big fan of 'widescape' myself - does the hasselblad provide this easily? or is it the type of lens (just learning myself -I have a wide angle but am always afraid of distortion at the edges and 'horizon bend'. Thanks for crit on loch assynt - I know I chose the wrong time of day but as they say the sun was shining the weather sweet..
Nuff yak - good shot!

I agree that this is a lovely shot. The light house is placed well, and the colours are fantastic. The panaramic crop works well also.

John, this is great. Beautiful sunset. You did a nice job capturing some of the detail in the foreground rocks. My only (small) suggestion for improvement would be cloning out the handrail(?) to the right of the lighthouse. It's very minor and I didn't notice it at first, but now it catches my eye just a bit as I look around the photo. Again, great shot.
