What ever I have learnt of observation is - when you look at an image - the eye tends to bounce at a 45 degree angle.
This one demonstrates it perfectly - eye jumps from the bonet key knob to the Citron emblem and from there to the Orange light.
Well done.
HUGO,
WISH YOU A HAPPY NEW YEAR.
regards, ken.

I thought i had commented on this shot but it doesnt look that way.. So here we go! =)
Fantastic angle on this shot.. makes it very powerful i think. Superb details and the crop is perfect. Your shot makes the car even more beutiful then it is in the real world if you ask me.. =) Love the details as the light.. and the reflection of the beutiful sky. You have thought of it all! The first one is still a favorite but this one comes close!! 7+

Very nice comp, details, angle and reflections. This might be minor, but it jumped right in my eye and it bugs ME: The cyan part of the sky is to bold for me. I would desaturate a bit. Just my 2 cents of course. C.

great angle. way to make the DS even more interesting and even more futuristic if that's possible. love the reflections and the presence of the lit turn signal. although i would also like to see this with a dry car (no drops). excellent shot!

Hugo, I agree with the comment above that the thumbnail does not do justice to this photo (as you remarked for mine). Unfortunately, I think there are a lot of Usefil photos that don't get the attention the merit simply because the thumbnail does not seem to warrant the extra click. But anyway, I think this one is more 'promotional' than the previous one as it is less 'artsy' and more 'slick'. But either way, its a really nice shot and somehow manages to mane an inanimate object quite 'alive' and sensual. I'm sure the Citroen designer of this car would pin this up in his bedroom! Omar

I'll add you to my associates lists!! Good to hear from you ;)

Hi Arwa,
Of course you didn't offend me in any way! And there's no specific reason I removed you from my friends list either. It's just that I'm really busy these days, and I don't have a lot of time (not as much as I used to) to spend on UF.
Recently, I decided to remove quite a few people, as the increasing number of uploads for friends makes me nervous... I also like to (re)view photos from people I haven't met yet. I've also "migrated" many people to my associates list, and you are one of them. No particular reason, and if it makes you happy, I'll gladly add you to my friends list again...;o)
For me, the difference between Friends and Associates is only a different word for the same thing. I'll still consider you a dear friend, and I'll continue to comment on your work!
Cheers,
Hugo

What I like most about the image is the contrasting skies(real and reflected). While the sky above seems to be rather bright and sunny, the reflection sky seems to be more stormy in nature, even more emphasized by the water drops, which are excellent in detail. Nice~

Hi Hugo, now i can recognise this one :) Does that make it better? I don't know :) But i do know that i like it. The combination of the tight framing and the unusual angle really are attractive and the reflection touch of the clouds/sky in the car is great. Greets from the mountains, Neil

Hi Hugo,
sorry for my recent lack of UF-time.
I really like the diagonal outline composing and the nice reflections here (which may be strengthened even more with some layer work).
DOF is fine by me, and the macro crop is also good. for some reason (don't ask me why), I'm not pleased with the format here... maybe it's because of the strong sky. my gues is that a quadratic format may (!) bring in some more tension on this field.
anyway, solid hugo-performance ;-)

Hi Richard, it's a 1973 Citroen DS 2.3 liter Electronic Injection; a few were made in the US, but the majority was build in France and the UK during the years '55 to '75. Soon, I'll post a few overviws. It's a great car, the first with turning headlights and a hydrolic suspension. A great car; and a delight to drive...:)

Hi Verena, thanks for your comment; I do agree with you about tthe multiple reflection being the eye catcher in the first; it's my favourite too. I do like the reflection of the lock and the lever in this one, though. That, together with the raindrops and the reflection of the sky is why I think this one has some merit too. But mostly the reflection of the lock and lever in the bodywork.
Cheers,
Hugo

Another good thing is coming again in this style, this time making it much more accessible for those who find dragging themselves out of their challenge to know exactly what the first image subject was. Angle shot and weather condition of brilliant and perfectly used, a combination of invention and high quality image with true life photo commercial attraction.. I can not add more but only agree to have a shiny polish at least that interesting part, the clouds would?ve been spectacular reflected elements, though a professional touch certainly there, super. EXCELLENT Hugo, I must admit, I do not know this car. However, it is most handsome and lends itself well to your design/image. Perfect abstract material. I like the drops on the metal, makes me think it has been well cared for and has a nice coat of wax on it. I especially like the mixture of warm tones and cool tones. Silver and Gold. VERY PLEASING composition, with good lines as well. Well done my friend!

Hi Gerhard, thanks for your comment. I agree with you, and it's basically what I find appealing in this one: the imperfections in it... I could've polished my car again, but decided against it, as I rather liked the drops; a car is a tool, screaming out to be driven and used, not something to stand idle and be looked at, although I have to admit, the Citroen DS design comes as close to art as any car could come, but that's my (biased) view....:)
Cheers,
Hugo

Groet Teunis

Hi Hugo. This is quite an interesting series with the Citroen. I like the reflections here of the handle and the clouds. Considering the age of this vehicle, has it been restored or has it been maintained in this condition throughout its life? I've only seen a coulple of these autos in my travels here in the states and they are always attention-getters. Best wishes, Kurt
