With blues like that it's a natural beauty for the Fuji S5000!
An excellent capture.

Regradless of the environment this is a beautifully executed photograph.
But I am interested to know - is this a wild bird in it's natural setting?

It's sad in a way but what so amazes me about this shot is how clean the track area is. No rubbish, no oil, no mess.
A similar shot in the UK would not look the same just for that reason.

What a fantastic abstract. It looks like it's been painted rather than photographed, but you can see the natural elements that make it up.
Sorry I've not been around much - work and stuff getting in the way.

A very interesting image.
For some reason it doesn't quite get there as being perfect and I'm not sure why. It has all the elements to make it so - good colour, good composition, excellent idea. But it just doesn't quite add up.

Jim,
Your comments are much appreciated. I think I agree with you on this, my only concern being that the removal of the bright patch at the top of the image may make this photo less appealing when viewing at thumbnail size (and thus less likely to attract any critique)
Once again, many thanks.

Maybe barren of life - but not of beauty.
All I can wish is that one day, life will take me to such treasures. But until then, your camera and eye will have to serve my needs.

It always amazes me how other people see my images differently from me.
Personally I prefer the one in portrait mode, but then I have the benefit of seeing these in full resolution modes on my PC at home rather than the restricted sizes on UF (this is not a criticism of UF)
I think the fact that all 3 images managed to get loaded into the critique page in succession may account for the voting. It wasn't really planned that way - it must have been quiet at the time.
Anyway, thanks for your comments. Thought provoking stuff.

A fine image with excellent colour and composition.
I dohowever have a feeling that it could do with being rotated about 1 degree anti-clockwise. While not impossible there do seem to be a lot of uprights that aren't quite upright all leaning slightly to the left.
I suppose it could be sinking!

Based on the sky we had here yesterday I would say the colour here wasn't too far from naturally unnatural! The concept and colour are brilliant.
I would however have used PS or something to darken the church so it lost any detail and became a true silhouette.

The left hand building is a fascinating study, but the lack of detail in the right hand one is a bit distracting and fills space with little contribution to the overall picture. I would have been tempted to concentrate just on the left hand one.

sara,
While the colour here makes the photo interesting in the thumbnail, I think it could have been made even better by re-thinking the composition.
Having a horizon or waterline at the half-way point tends to divide a photo in two in a way that the eye does not find comfortable. Placing the waterline at either the upper or lower third tends to improve and make a photo more attractive.
It's less than clear what you want the eye to focus on. Is it the boat or the scenery? Again - if it was the boat I would have taken the photo (or cropped it) so that the boat appeared in one of the "thirds" positions.
I've looked at your portfolio and clearly you have a good range of images so please don't take this critique as particularly negative.

Yes - a very attractive water image.
I might have darkened the light patch on top of the upper left hand log as it attracts the eye away from the waterfall, but otherwise it is perfect.
