great Idea....super! The fact that the main subject is somewhat cropped drawing my eye to the shadow, the secondary aspect of your photo works very well as a contemporary composition.

hey, I am off on a sailing trip to Spain from New London, CT. USA in 2 weeks on a 300ft square rigged tall ship called the USCG Eagle...should be awesome for photos I hope! here is a youtube link of the ship:

Hi Peta!....nice to see a posting! a very unusual cropping. Now are you selling jewelry and making a cool cropping? or just creating a contemporary composition. Just had to ask.

P.S. I will be embarking on an amazing adventure mid April. Sailing a 300ft square rigged tall ship from the eastern sea board USA to Rota Spain over a period of 18 days....I hope to get some great images. I need your sensibilities to really make the shots work. You want to come?...better yet I will meet you in Spain!...lol

I remember a shot from here by you a year ago or so. and this one is equally wonderful. Sorry i have been so busy moving once again to another part of canada and traveling that I haven't had much time to check out your images on usefilm. turns out I won't be in my new apartment for long before I am jetting off to the eastern sea board (New London,CT) near you in mid April. I am sailing on the tall ship USCG Eagle from there to Spain writing for the photo software company i have a contract with. Then a week in Spain fooling around and looking for neat things to see. Txules, wrote me back from some of my inquiries and made some excellent suggestions. Love this part of Usefilm! Hope you are all well, and I wish I had time to stop by for a coffee. Maybe next time. I may be heading to NY this summer...I will let you know! Cheers mate,

Hey thanks, that is a super suggestion! I am going to the Guggenheim because I am an artist by trade as well as interested in Architecture....like the Antonio Gaudi buildings. I am there for a week and I needed some ideas for other things to see, like your suggestion. Would love to have met you if it was possible....but hey... if you make over to the wild part of the world over here in Canada let me know. Would love to show you around the west coast!
On the other hand my plane ticket is a return ticket so I am booked to come back possibly in Feb 15th 2010....who knows. I loved being in Argentina and Chile and imagine things are a little bit similar in Spain and Basque country. Late dinners and a night life. haha. thanks again!

The sunset does last forever more in the summer. But at this time it goes down fairly swiftly and soon to not come up for long at all.....you have to use infrared digital them...LOL

Wow! this looks like it was a fantastic trip! I think I will put Madagascar on my list of places to head to. I guess I should wait till the politics settles down first though.
By the way I am sailing to Spain on the Square Rigged Tall Ship USCG Eagle. We will be landing in Rota, Spain in May 8th. I was planing on heading to Bilbao, then Barcelona over a period of a week. Just wondering what else you might think is worth checking out from a photographers point of view.

Always good to hear from you Doyle....have been to busy to be posting much lately. But I will be embarking on a Sailing trip across the Atlantic in April over 18 days on the square rigged Tall ship USCG Eagle landing in Spain sometime in May. I should be getting some awesome stuff on this voyage!
