paul,
yes i have a canon 350 xt. ive had for a year, and didnt use it at all. i use a nikon d200 to shoot everything else. and as you see i shoot mostely ir, so converting my canon was more than a good idea.
i got the mirror online, and changed it myself.
it was a bit challenging. you have to dig thru the camera to get to the sensor,,, yikes!, and take the mirror off. It was only 100 bucks for the ir mirror. it took me all of 3 hours to do it.
the recent posts are the shots i got after the conversion this past weekend.
there is a HUGE difference between this and my sony that i was using. nice to not have any filters. there is less contrast and more mid tones and greys. i like it, however, they seem more soft focus than the sony. hopefull i get used to it.
thanks again
priscilla

i dont know bout that one... some day, you will turn on the tv and see..... then after you look at this beautiful tennessee property, i will take you to the beautiful cracker towns of florida. this nice little ghost town is just crying out for developement.
these homes are few and far between in the massive florida over developement. cracker homes they are called,.... i search these little towns out and see what lies behind the concrete massivenss.

yes, i did do this in IR,
almost all my work is ir. and yes, it is digital.
sony did this thing called nite shot mode, where it removes all ir filtereing. then with ths combined with a ND and a Hoya ir filter, i can achieve better results than using kodak hie...
not as much fun tho....

wayne, your infrared images are awesome.. i just gave in to in digital infrared worl, and have lodes!! of film laft. you can scan your negs and be successful.
this shot is great. i love the grain in it, and i think the sky is fine. burning it anymore woud have made it out of balance. to me anyway.
the only thing that keeps catching my eye, is the 22 on the vine... i would have lost that in the final print.
great work..

sonys that have the nite shot mode flips up the ir mirror that blocks out all ir light. and puts it into black and white. even with the heavy ir filter on there they are very green so i have to level them and turn them black and white.
