Amazing how a different cropping can make such a difference. I'm glad you left in the trees and the reflections. Too bad the ducks left, but this is till a great shot.

This is outstanding Rebecca. The autumn colours and the reflections of the building in the water is beautiful. This is the type of place to sit back in front of a fireplace with a bottle of red wine.

Hi Rebecca, this portrait view would give the wonderful landscape view a run for it's money if you cropped out the upper third of this photo. The washed out sky and upper part of the trees/foliage don't add anything to the photo and distracts the viewer's attention from the glory of the mill and its reflection.

Yes it is. It's at mile marker 176 about 90 min out of Roanoke.

This one is nice too.. but I prefer the first one since one lost a lot of colors and a part of the atmosphere that you captured in the first photo. Anyway, this is a lovely place. Regards Fabrice

Rebecca This is a great shot. Is it on the Blueridge Parkway? I go up there a lot in NC.

Hi Rebecca, nice shot in both cases, but I like horizontal shot because it shows more of the atmosphere of the area the mill is in. Dave.

This vertical format does put more focus on the Mill structure and also is very appealing, but i vote for the horizontal because of the other elements shown and the longer distance perspective regards,Shameless
