This is so beautiful. The bloom looks translucent and delicately strong against the dark background.

This is so exquisite in every aspect, dear Alison, that I put it into my favorites.

Like you, Alison, I doubt that this is a dahlia! :-)
Difficult to tell what it is without seeing the habitus and other leaves.
But that aside, it IS a very nice flower, the light and colors are really nice and I like the two buds peeping out from behind. Maybe the crop is a bit too tight?
;-)

Amazing softness is the first thing that strikes me when I see this shot. Soft and delicate colours, textures and an overall feel of just wanting to pick it up and caress it.

Excellent crop and angle too with the black background showing the flower to its best effect.

Wonderful shot Alison - possibly the best I have seen of yours!

Brilliant corp and I like the leaning angle witch make a great deal of change in your perspective. The fading soft pink is marvelous and you black background is great for the presentation. Cheers Alison.

What amazing lighting. This is about as nice a flower picture as I've seen. The combination of that lovely color and the side lighting, and the dark background too, make it just sing. Exquisitely well done.
