About And dining! Notice the pair of frightened, black eyes of the prey, to the right!

I thought this mutant aracnid, had disappeared, but the unmistakable six (and a half)legged one, is back.

Awsome creature, cannibalistic scene. Great macro. Since I have been trying to shoot similar pics without much success, I can appreciate it very much: Gy.

Welcome to my parlour indeed! Having only 6 1/2 legs sure doesn't seem to to stop this not so little spider from being effective at wrapping it's prey!
Nicely detailed and well composed too.

You were right about this one being, Araneus diadematus (common garden spider), P.J. Thank you. I always like to know about the subjects of my photography! Lost of internet info on this creature. This spider is a female, and the reason the web disappears, every night is that they eat them!

Thanks alot for tht info, P.J.

Not a bad job for a spider with a handicap. I love spiders but they are so hard to find around here. This is a wonderful shot, so sharp and detailed.

No need to worry about this one, Judi. Unlike your Australian monsters, this six legged one, was less than 2cm long! Thanks for the comment, Judi. Glad you liked it enough to comment.

Colin.

So it survived! this is an even better capture than the previous one, Colin. Unless it was spinning its net vertically, you must have been lying on your back to take this excellent photo.
Thank you for your very generous comment on my "In Montet's garden 1."
We are off today (September 4th) to Eilat, our southern city and port and I hope tp bring many photos back.
Best regards,
Rafi

I don't think the eyes of the prey are frightened any more, Colin. Seems to be pretty dead. Nevertheless a very good macro of this spider (did you say "Armkreuz" to it?) and don't woory about the missing leg(s), they don't really need them all;)

Regards, Markus

Thank you, Dave. Considering the quality of your beastie macros, that's a great compliment! I've another one of, "Old Six Legs" (the disabled arachnid), to show at a later date.
