Whoa. I clicked on your name on the comment u left and this picture shot out at me - I've never seen anything like this - very interesting composition. It great how the background isn't actually just a flat black shape - it has other colors.......I also think this is great because it's like she was just simply talking to you like that with her cigarette - very cool.

great effect.. I like the concept...but I think I would have the person move across the composition. Seems that the images are on top of each other so it is hard to follow the movement. If the person moved across the head would be in different positions and I would also make sure that the hands/arms are in different positions each time as well.... good work

Good work Hugo, I like the stroboscopic play with flash and this came out well. I noticed your new toy (D2X), I've also picked up a DSLR and still sporting the bruises from the wife ;-)

Excelent image Hugo - conveyeing a feeling loud (endless) discussion - I almost reached for the earplugs! Pesonally I feel the five bursts may be a bit too much - making the scene very busy - although that might be the exact reason for the atmosphere it creates! Great shot anyhow - very creative!

Hi Hugo
When I first started to look at these images I thought to critique them on their technical merit because of the nature of the discovered treatment. But because they are out of my technical experience area it was found to be too difficult.
The one thing I have now discovered is that the "treatment", work very well for inanimate object, ones that can take repetition. However, when the subject matter is human, this repetitive image, for me, falls flat. The scales and the coins work really well keeping there definition and sharpness but I just feel that the subject matter is the key....it works for some but not others.

Hi Toshi, The cluttered part was my thought exactly. I usually shoot such a scene with a rear sync flash, but thought I'd try the repetitive mode. That does make it more cluttered. Besides, the image quality isn't perfect either, I agree. I do think this theme has merit, though, but in this case I think I should've slowed the interval between the bursts, and only three bursts would've been enough.

Hi Randy, Thanks for your vote of confidence. I tend to think more and more in lines of Roger Williams' reply though. Although I do think this has merit, I think I need to elaborate a bit more on this....
I think you described my intentions very well, but neither tone nor motion came out as planned. Then again, I wasn't completely sober when I shot this one. Stay tuned, I might reshoot it fairly soon...

Hi Pat, Yeah I agree. I usually use a rear sync on the flash in such occasions, but I thought and try the repetitive flash on such a scene. I think it would've worked better with a larger contrast in her clothes, as well as a different flash setting (slower bursts, and less bursts) I was thinking this would do great in shooting a long jump at night too. I like the summersault idea too, though. Thanks!

Great series Hugo, I'm loving the uniqueness of each of these Motion Picture photos. I really like the concept to this one and the sense of movement works really well. However, I wish the motion of the woman was a bit more fluid and less cluttered. I'm not sure but it seems that she was to the left and moved right. Perhaps the other way around and smoother movement would help this image "flow" better. Just my humble take on this particular shot :)

The composition is wonderful and the exposure spot on, not easy I would imagine with five flashes to keep the overlapped parts of the image from over-exposing.
The only part I don't like is the cigarette, I hate seeing beautiful young women smoking, it seems such a waste.

(I can totally relate to the comment thing)
If i were to start picking favorites from this motion picture series, this is one. Very dynamic image to be studied at length, sort of a motion picture segment captured in one image. The hand(hands) reaching ferward and out into open space
adds lots of life.

This one doesn't work for me, Hugo, as there seems to be insufficient actual "movement" in the multiple images. They look more like PS duplications of the same or very similar images than a sequence of actual movements. I think this particular element of your project needs a bit more work before it joins the others.
