Makes perfect sense, Chris. It will make a lovely addition to your "panorama" folder. The demands of the 2.5:1 panorama format are a little more severe than 2:1, but for scenery the wider, shallower format often works better. Just FYI.

Hi Chris, great shot with beautiful lighting. The 3D effect caused by the small tips of light on each petal is awsome. Looks like you helped a little with the blacks, especially the top left corner :) Just a small point.
Thanks for your comment and sorry i haven't been commenting much lately. Been reviewing how i use Usefilm, i'm sure you understand.
Best wishes from your friend, Neil

Janice, many thanks for your kind comment.
I have made up a whole series of 'virtual frames' that I just drop my fiished pictures on. They're made up in Photoshop, using a number of different layers to create the colours and lines, etc. If you send me your e-mail address by dropping a note to: chrisspracklen@btopenworld.com I'll send you my frames tutorial.
Best regards, Chris

I cropped it like this for two reasons, Roger:

i. I'm builing a whole portfolio of 4x2 panoramas in black frames and I wanted this red gerbera to be part of the collection as I was so pleased with the capture of the colour and the overall sharpness. And?

ii. I wanted to put the emphasis on the two centre rings rather than the outer petals.

Many thanks for your kind comment, as ever.

Best regards, Chris

What an awesome shot, color, clarity, and such a fantastic presentation. The red is wonderful against that black background - that touch of white is perfect to offset the black and red. I REALLY can see this printed in a large size and hanging over a sofa in a room with very modern furniture. Very powerful - sure wish you could find a project to put this in...How did you do the border framing just top and bottom?

It's beautiful, Chris. I love panorama format but I wonder why you chose it for this shot? I think I might have preferred to be wowed by a full frontal circular flower in a square frame!

I haven't had good luck with gerbera shots myself so this a treat. Close-up was a great idea and I love the crop. Have a nice weekend Chris.
