About	My last name is not a common name and there are several variations of the spelling. I know very few who share my name other than relatives. Recently I received an invitation to attend a gathering of a national organization with my last name holding their biannual meeting just 20 miles from my home. The gathering was in a church built in the sixteen hundreds. The primary interest of the group is genealogy. I decided to attend. I enjoyed the program and took several photos. For the next 2 or 3 days I will be posting photos from that gathering.

It shows how your ancestors ha no places to go to get fancy tomb stones made. Obviously, the lettering is carved out by hand. The overgrown look emphazises the olness of it.

That looks like a really old headstone. I can't really make out what the markings say. Kind of neat to trace your ancestry though.
