About
Boy, I'm just one big walking Southwest advertisement, aren't I? ;)
This pic isn't too terribly profound, but I really enjoy looking for anthropomorphic figures in nature. This collection of hoodoos at Bryce struck me for the human-and feminine-like quality of the forms.
Has anyone been to or heard of City Museum in St. Louis? The founder and sculptor loves to create manmade caves and include somewhat obvious and often very subtle anthropomorphic and zoomorphic forms, so that you're not sure if you did just see that, or if you envisioned it. A fantastic place for the artistic eye and the creative imagination!
Glad you have a passion for Photography...It's really a great Hobby, past-time and vocation...It let's you get creative and seek your style...And It's fun...Never been to Bryce but would love to go sometime...As for Criticism : Framing is O.K. Composition is somewhat lacking...You need some type of dominant element to lead the viewer into the photo...Color is dull and monochomatic...Whether scanner fault or not..I looked at some of your other posts and the type of film you are shooting is one problem...Shoot Slide Film at ISO 50-100...Fuji Sensia is Great. So is Kodak Slide Films..Color rendition and saturation is a big part of making an image good..You get much better colors from slide film...This is basically a thrown away image...The difference between Pro and amateur is how close the garbage can is when you are sorting your shots and how willing you are to use it...The good part is you can always improve...Shoot lots of film...Then shoot lots more...With time, you will develop your style...And your vision...Your shot of Italica is a good shot but lacks good color rendition...Hope this helps...Cheers,Greg
I'm more interested in what people have to say about the image I tried to capture. The quality of the scan I have less control over, especially as an amateur. I'm looking for critiques on framing, composition, etc.
Looks like your scanner did some serious injustice to what is probably a pretty good photo. Hmmmm.......... Last time I checked Bryce Canyon was in Utah.
