Excellent and very pleasing shot. You isolated the essential details very well and used the right shutter speed to get a supurb abstract. Well done, Judi.

Nope.
And oh, bye the way....what seperates this from all the other "rushing water" photo's that I've seen (and taken!), is the dazzling little highlights! They make the water dance. It's a wonderful little tap dance. ..Brad

Yes thanks Michael. I would normally go for the longer shutter speeds but in this case I did not want that effect.
I like the force of the water coming out of the tunnel and splashing over the rocks. I wanted to capture that energy and force. I also like the light scribbles across the water and the longer shutter would not have given that. Also the daylight was reflecting against the tunnel which meant a longer shutter would have pushed that area way too much.
This image was also handheld and with three little children in tow I had no intention of trying for longer speeds.

I can see you are playing around with slow shutter speeds, this is great for veiling water.
Interesting blur mechanics - great feeling of motion.
If you want to make the water really smokey you have to shoot for about a 1 second exposure on a tripod.
Probably not the effect you would want for this type of energetic shot though.
