What a coincidence! Side-by-side in my friends' images, two skimmer shots, one by Roberto Okamura, and one from you, Darlene.
Just like his one, this is an extraordinary capture. Excellent timing and composition.

Hi Darlene, I also wanted to ask if you knew why the skimmers kill the baby turns as I am sure you have observe them, They stay with the turns most of the time and when the babies hatch they pick them up and carry them off, I have not been able to find a reason as they dont eat them? Take care, Marcus.. I will include a shot which I wont post.

Darlene, this is incredible. I've only seen them actually skimming once and I was on a bridge and they kept going under the bridge. But they are fun to watch. You captured them perfectly. Great reflection as well. Wow! Marilyn

wow darlene, this is wonderful and you got two for one, I have never caught a decent bird in flight with my 500 f/4, and I commend you, I am even getting a lower percentage of keepers with my 400mm F/4 DO handheld, but I just cant shoot off a tripod, beautiful shot. Its amazing how much intrest these skimmers have brought up amoung the nature phtographer here.... All my best.. Marcus..

Darlene, This is simply another remarkable image from the Boucher collection. One that I'd be more than proud to have captured. Apart from the dynamicism of the subjects you captured some magnificent reflections too. Although the background is plain it helps to keep attention on the subjects without distraction. Well done Den
