Hi Don, I tried cropping off the left from the bottom of the stem (or near)...
...but that just give another shot of a flower.
So I thing the format (longer that 4x6?) is a good choice.Maybe crop out that little spot on the upper left edge, and the spot just to the seft of the center top edge. I can't decide on the light branch in the top left..
Really nice photo.

Is this the same chikory that is added to coffee in some parts of the country? Nice detail in the flower, Don, and muted color of the background you have used. Very nice composition and pesentation. Best wishes, Larry.
