This is the photo which, after seeing just its caption, made me wirte that you had a sense of humor, Humayun. Seein the woman's face, however, and reading your "about" in you "Out of the box", I retract my words. I don't mean that you don't have a sense of humor, but your photos are very serious. I don't think that the lack of a smile on the face of the woman in this photo is a coincidence. I think that it coveys, in a slightly different way, what you wanted to express in the above mentioned photo. The backgound in this photo does remind of the one in the original Mona Lisa and does look like the one of that painting.
Last night (March 27th) I sent you my book and uttered some speculations. So far I received no confirmation or reply, but I think it has to do with it being Friday.
Thank you so much for your very generous comment on my "Prayer at 30.000 feet."
Best regards,
Rafi

Thanks, Mark for your comments. If you are planning to go to Iran.. you must vist Isfahan. It not very far from Tehran and its a beautiful historic city with lots of places to see and capture. Tehran is just a big city like any other! If your plans are finalized.. just let me know, I'll suggest a few place you shouldn't miss!
Best regards

Dear Humayun, Another great shot. Very interesting the oilpaint effect you gave this - I'm sure it looks fine in it's natural state. I must look in my Atlas to see how far Isfahan is from Tehran. I was thinking of going to at least Tehran if I do a planned visit to UAE / Oman in about 5 or 6 months. I'd love to do this trip. Take care, Mark PS. Thank you for your kind words on my shots.

Hello Humayun,

I love this wonderful image, nicely done indeed!
Beautiful soft lighting on the pretty young lady, and I love how you gave the oil effect only to the background. At first I thought she might have been standing in front of a painting.

Beautifully done,
Lori :)

ps..looks like you are new here....WELCOME!

Beautiful combination of techniques. You did a good job blending the little girl and the manipulated background.

You've captured a beautiful expression on the child's face. Almost timeless.

Welcome to UF. Hope you learn as much as I do and feel inspired by all the wonderful photographers on this site.

Best regards, Andree

Humayun, I know of no way to respond to every comment with just one reply. What I see on this site is that a person gets few if any comments unless that person comments on others postings. One way to respond to a comment received is to thank that person when commenting on one of their post. I find all the commenting very time consuming; therefore, I comment on a just few posts each day and usually to the same few people. I do always return the courtesy of commenting to those that leave a comment on my post, as I did with yours.
By the way, my doctor's hobby is also photography.
Best wishes, Jimmy

Dear Eric,
Thanks a lot for ur "Excellent" comment (at least thats how I rated it) Exactly what I thought while giving it the oilpaint effect.. that the green in the river goes very well with the color of her shirt. Thanks once again. I'm glad u liked it.

Eric Peterson   {K:4419} 5/19/2005
Very nice work. The oil paint effect on the background works well here. The green in the background picks up on the girl's outfit and helps hold the image together, keeping it from having a pasted together look, while the off center placement and sharpness of the subject helps establish her as the focal point of the photo and draws attention to her expression.

Welcome to Usefilm, Humayun. Your first post is a winner. An unsmiling but lovely "Monalisa" in such a beautiful setting works magic. Your use of the oilpaint effect blurs the background enough to draw the viewers' eyes right to the young lady. Well done, doctor.

Regards, Jimmy
