About I liked the symbolism here with the new buds not yet opened on one side and the old dead blooms on the other side. It really makes the center bloom stand out.

While I understand your comments and your suggestion would make a great photo, the purpose of this one was to show the life cycle. While the flower is primarily the main focus I also wanted the eye drawn to the other two sides that showed the other phases of this cycle. Thanks so much for your comments!

Beautifully taken. You can try another version were you can blur out the background in PS. That will give you a shallow dof effect. IMO that background in focus is quite distracting and may take the viewers attention away from the main subject , the flower.
