Dear Sue, if you want a milky water you must use a tripod and some neutral density filter in order to use a slow shutter speed: some seconds, better if 15. Ciao from Italy Paolo

Hi Marco, beautiful picture... I have a Canon A40 & can't for the life of me figure out how to slow the shutter speed down enough to capture this milky water effect.. keep getting pure white or black shots when I try... Would be interested to know what shutter speed you used for this so I can try to match it on my camera.
I've done a number of waterfall shots lately using a faster shutter speed, around 1/1500 & find it gives a really good effect also.
