Mark this one is most impressive, I really like the vintage feel the sepia adds to the shot. You have some great shots in your portfolio!

I have looked at all three of the shots, and I normally much prefer colour versions of things, I think this something extra special. For me the way you have converted it, it still shows up the smoke [which I know is very important - my partner Den Thompson on usefilm is a steam train buff]very well, but if brings out the mountains in the background - giving much a feel of the terrain it has to travel through. I like all three - but this is definitely my favourite Margaret

Better than the color version! I really like the slightly unusual toning... kind'a half-way between black and white and sepia. Fantastice image and great job on post-editing!

A wonderful old look for such an old train. The "ole time" look is definately appropriate here. Great job Mark!

This sepia version seems to have better detail than the color picture. I think you have achieved your goal. Don.

Wow Mark! I have a soft spot for this sort of shot. Not only is it a subject that has been with me most of my life but the sepia toning is how I think working steam locos should be shown. It's obvious that this loco is working HARD by the height that the smoke is being projected to and it's colour. In the 60's we used to bribe firemen on engines to sabotage their fires and leave the firehole doors open to gives us that effect at a given vantage point. It eas a disciplinary offence to discharge black smoke! Fantastic shot and I like the colour version too but this is my fave. Den

That sepia really suits it. This sets a mood of a bygone era, with nice composition, clarity, etc. Well done.

Hi, Mark. I think I've ridden that train... nearly 11 years ago. Nice to see it's still huffing along. Great shot and love the sepia with it. Riding that train is quite an adventure! Thanks for sharing and bringing back fond memories. Evelyn

Perfect! The toning and cropping, the way the dark smoke plummets above and in front of the snow-capped mountains - a very intriguing photo for sure!

Gorgeous train. I've been taking a lot of photos of trains lately so I can appreciate this shot. Theres something very alluring about trains. I still haven't been able to put my finger on it but I can see you feel the same way.
