Thanks Stephen. The Central Highlands is an old volcanic area with many of these types of formations....some are even more extreme then this.

No, we didn't actually get any rain out of this. That happens a lot around here.

It was those hills that actually attracted me to this scene....the foreground was a bonus.

Superb vertical landscspe, great color contrast. I would rework a bit the transition zone between sky and ground, looks a bit dark, IMO

Thanks Nathan...it was an awesome day. I was racing to get out there and capture the sky. By the time I had finished I had beautiful clouds with blue skies. The storm clouds had gone. This country can be so umpredictable.

Hey Judi...

This one has the atmosphere of an impending storm... very welcome for the farmer I'm sure...!

You know - last October I visited QLD for the first time... (gold coast) the day we picked to go to Dreamworld was the wettest day for about 20 years ! .. still no queues !

great shot - shows the other side to the burning sun, blue skies and dried grasses.

LOL...yes Amna...we have the 10 most deadly snakes in the world here in Australia. Wherever you go there is good and bad. You learn to live with it.
