What a tearful photo for my heart Subhash! I am SO very sad for them. It is not fair for these children to have to be born for a life like this. Amazing that the world allows for this to happen!

there is still a sense of potency in this childs eyes and I'm glad about that, actually looking dangerous. quite an enigmatic expression, is it actually a repressed smile? the wall looks beautiful to me... wonderfully textured... and lit... I am not sure that is your intent you are working with them? I hope they are finding these photos affirming.

Journalism becomes art, and art, journalism. You photograph the human condition with compassion that is lacking in many others. Too often I see just exploitative work when some people attempt to portray people. There really is no difference in the way you see flowers and people! No less wonder. Keep up the vision in your heart.

Are there any organizations already doing similar things (charity groups?) who already set up schools and help needy communities who can be talked into coming in? Or can you gather up the resources in terms of people and space and materials? You could begin a web site for that purpose and use your pictures to motivate and inspire because they certainly do touch our hearts.

Interesting change of focus from the face to the brick -- as though the brick is the only thing that matters and the lives behind their making are just a blur. Sad. What can be done? What would it take to change their lives, Subhash?

Subhash, I thank you for doing this series, and sharing the reality of child slavery. We don't want to think about such things in the West, but the truth is plain for those who will see.
The photo is powerful, with the hazy child and the strong, sharp blocks. Amazing expression as well. Amy
