About a budding photographer. My neighbor, who was with me at City Cemetary one day. This is a scan from a print, of a reflection of her setting up to take a picture of the willow tree. I had other ideas, obviously. I gave her and old manual Ricoh SLR, several lenses and a book. She's come a long way. She's taking some excellent photos of her own! Yesterday, got a job in Sears portrait studio. She's so excited! This is Sarah.

Ahhhh there is nothing like helping another interested being onto the world of creativity. It really helps us rediscover why we are doing it ourselves. I'm glad that you are her mentor, she is so lucky to have such a good photog as a neighbour.

Excellent reflections Rebecca - great news about Sarah's job. To work on something that you enjoy is a real bonus ... even better when you are good at what you are doing also :-)

This is such a neat idea! It came out really clear too. Were you using a polarizer? I like the way that you can still see the leaves in the water, here and there. So you parted with the ricoh, eh? I must say, that camera is STILL one of my favorites. You should get her to join usefilm!

cool, you are the teacher in the spotlight! I used to work at a Penney's Studio, it is a FUN job. Busy! But lots of fun! Have a friend who is in your town, a lawyer holding trials, I should pop up for a duel visit - lol... Dottie

I think it's great that you're mentoring your friends and family like this - only good can come from teaching people to really 'see'! You should encourage her to join UF, too.
Lovely artistic view of a budding artist!

Nice effect. I like the little goldfish in the sky. They're just like her bright thoughts as she visualizes the image she's making.

Great job REbecca, it's good to see you being so helpful to the energetic beginner! But, it seems you have created a monster! Good luck to both you and her and to her new career, what a way to learn, on someone elses dime, keep on shooting and grinning, CAry

Great shot Rebecca...your composition here is wonderful. Even with out knowing these were reflections I would have thought this was a dreamy kind of image. It's not soft, yet not clearly in focus.

Great composition, She must really appreciate your help and encouragement. we went to see Dens grandson yesterday [he is nearly 4]and Den let h im look through his big lens and took some shots of some birds in the trees, he was so thrilled, so perhaps we have a new budding photographer in the family. Don't know if I can 'tidy up' one of the shots I took of them to upload, they were very much 'snapshots'
