About I tried a few more times to get a shot in there without the glare. Still had some, but not as bad. Some touch up and repair to cover the worst part.

This was restored telegraph office/ train depot. It sits at City Cemetary here in town. There are 3 rooms or 4 looks like. I'd sooooo love to get in there.

Rebecca this is a jewel. I have probably spent more time digesting this photo than any other on UF. I guess I have been trying to date this scene. My guess is the WWI or the great depression era. That poster behind the stove is saying something about "back with interest _ _ UNITED STATES TREASURY." I like this one better than the first post. It shows much more of the interior of the room. Even a vase of dried hydrangeas(?) sitting on a stack of magazines. Do you know what this building was? It doesn't look like a home.

Dirck, I've tried polarizers, red filters, lens hoods over the polarizer! It's double glass and VERY hard not to bet a mirror image of myself in it, plus a glare. My next thought was to get someone to hold a dark sheet or something behind me, but since Patrick is usually the one with me, and he's only 11 inches tall... well.. that's out of the question! One day when I'm through there, I'm going to ask if they'll just open it up and let me take some shots. It's awesome inside that old station. My mouth waters to get in there lol

The first one was really good, but I think you've improved on it considerably with this wonderful shot! There are a number of elements visible in this version that weren't there in the first - the telephone (?) ringer at left, the vase of dusty-looking flowers at right and more of the worn wooden floor. The glare in this one really does enhance the old timey feeling here - like sunlight angling through dust in the air.
Just curious, did you try shooting with a polarizer on to eliminate the glare? (not that you should have in this case!)

I,too, agree about the glare giving image a vintage/dusty look which is a good thing..the patinas/highlights on chairs & cuspidor/muted colors are all very well executed..nice depth to this image walking along the floor to that door.."cowgirl" would fit right in!..congrats!..cowgirl (7+)

This is an excellent shot. The composition is outstanding. I think the glare could almost give a ghostly effect to the photo - but then again, I like mysterious things :-)

The glare adds to the image Rebecca, detracts in no way at all. It is illuminating this wonderful dusty past giving it back the glow it once had. You can see the dust kicked up by the bootheels on the well worn floor, see them cowboys leanin back in them there chairs and spittin out their chewin tobacco, tellin tall tales. Beautiful vintage capture.

I agree with Jim and Neal. I like the glare. Just imagine that at one point in time that house had all the modern conviences available. Great picture.

Instead of a re-do I'd call this an entirely different picture. Nice feeling here too with the soft muted colors. The light streaks make it look dusty in there, as it would be. Seems like the light switch would be an anachronism, but then, I don't know when they used stoves like this. You sure did your part though. This photo has a beautiful old-timey feeling.

Very nice shot Rebecca
I kinda like the glare, I think it adds to, rather then takes away from the photo, sorta giving it an almost old time feel
