Gorgeous shot, Rebecca - it looks exactly as you describe it! The colors are wonderful, from the deep reddish-brown of the sand, to the foreboding blackness of the ocean. The single gull is perfect - adds to the sense of loneliness. Well done!

Wonderful shot and perfect title Rebecca! I think also darkening the sky would add to the feel of loneliness.

The solo bird gives sort of a lonely feeling to this shot. Good shot. Del.

So soothing and relazing. It's nice to imagine there is no one else in sight. The colors are just delicious.

I love the color in this image, but I really don't think that is what makes it outstanding. My eye cannot get away from all of the wonderful diagonal lines in this shot. The angle of the beach, the foam, waves; and the cloud formation that comes to a point in the right third of the frame. The gull just kind of finishes it all off. This is first class composition. Just excellent.

Nicely done, Rebecca. The water does look cold and a little menacing. The lone bird makes this shot for me.

Richard, I had the parameters set to increase contast on this one, but I also did an auto enhancement on PSE and this is how it came out. I left it there. I loved the colors it gave it. I also had a polarizer on that day, and decided to leave it there to protect the lens when I saw how windy it was.

The colours in this one seem much richer????? A different day? Different settings? There is a very interesting set of lines in this one. The horizon, beach, water, even in the sky. These add interest to the composition. Now had that been an F-16!!!!! Congrats on both pics Rebecca, be careful of the sand with your new toy.

Deep indigo waters, russet beach, frothy waves, a soft pale blue sky and a lone gull. Picture perfect with a melancholy touch. Beautifully done Bec.
