Interesting. It seems to me IMHO that it's missing something Judi, I can't put my finger on it.

Great shot Judi... You seem to have the 'ageing' technique down pat! Well done!

thankyou Randy. Do you know that your comment is the first real comment that has helped me on this image. It has either been negative without much of a suggestion or whatever. At least you have given me some ideas. Thankyou.

This has got the old photograph look, but I think it would look better with only 1 or 2 lines crossing, like a fold. It is hard to have most people look like old timers, I think people do look different now, at least they pose different, usually sitting or standing as erect as possible and looking direct at camera with a very reserved expression. I'd like to see you do more like this and observe your methods.

No, not at all. That is the curves adjustment and the colour blend layers that give it that effect. In those days they did wear to much makeup at times.

When I was commenting, I had impression his hair is short, and in old time pictures men usually had longer hair. I just looked closer and is dark area like...oh well :-))

Yes, thank Louise. I purposely darkened the male to replicate the lighting used in those eras.

Hahahahahahaha...you crack me up!!

Okay, this image was taken at our most recent wedding. This is Ricco and his fiance. They posed like this themselves and it so reminded me of an old time photo so I worked it that way, which included darkening it right down, as photos back then didn't have reliable lighting and they darkened over time with age.

Secondly, he is wearing shoes...hahahaha! What you are seeing is the leg of the chair.

You are funny. :)

Very nice portrait Judi, I like the tones allot in here, But I have some questions about the composition, Why she is looking toward you and looks happy, while he is looking away and looks disturbed, second question, why he is not waring his shoes? :)

Nice Judi, the only thing I would suggest is the "grunge" effect should be a little sharper. I usually do each grunge effect in a different layer and apply heavy USM, I then go to Edit > Fade Unsharp Mask and adjust it till I get the look I want.

This does have a vintage feel, but I'm not sure the criss cross lines work. The man could use a little more light on him as well.
