An impressive photograph. I, too, like the contrast between the old castle and the contemporary town, both linked to the presence of the sea.
Fabrizio has an interesting point, but I think he's really suggesting a totally different picture - one that would be good in its own way, too, but a different picture nevertheless.

Great photo Lloyd it looks very similar to the remains of Knaresborough castle - although I would have to climb a few miles high before I see the sea ;-)
I like the crop as it is because for me it shows the old and the new while the sea remains unchanged !

England and its castles are absolutely fascinating! Nice shot, I would have slightly changed the point of view, trying to leave the cityscape out, pointing out to the sea
