About The snow fell here on hornby the other day, which is pretty unusual for around here. So i dragged myself out of bed to capture the sun rising over one of the local seaside farms. The beauty & quietude of this amazing island is what has brought me back here & i hope these images are able to capture even a morsel of what i am blessed to live in each day.

hi Samuel - thanks so much for your comments. I have to admit, though, that rising with the sun sounds more impressive than it really is this time of year, as the sun doesn't rise around here until around 8am!!! Actually, admitting that makes me sound rather lazy...ha, ha. But i also do think it was worth the effort - morning light has such a softness, a gentleness as you said, that is so different than the light at the end of the day. Thanks again - all the best - jennifer

Hi Jennifer, Thanks for sharing your image and your thoughts with us here. There is a gentleness to the first light - a quiet approach to the coming day. I'm impressed that you recognized the opportunity. I have had such thoughts, but have failed to follow through. Cheers to you! Sam

The quasi panoramic is good... but I personally would be tempted to crop out the quasi ranch style house on the right and the utility poles...

I love that you recognize your good fortune, and find this to be an incredibly beautiful shot....there is a wonderful contrast in colors between the sky and the snow! ..Brad
