This shot jumpped out at me this morning, although I probably saw it the last time I visited your portfolio. I love the rocks in the foreground and the wedge of water in the right corner.

Hi Dotti.. yes. And if for no other reason than a tripod allows for any exposure values necessary... want to have end-to-end DOF? No problem - f/14 @ 1/20th on a tripod in decent sunlight is easy, hand held - probably not so good . So is f/22 at 15 seconds in low light/night shots. The possibilities really open up for you when using a tripod, you really don't even have to have a 'good' one (but it certainly does help). Have fun & experiment,

Thanks, this was the last good one from yesterday morning. I was hoping for a big colorful dramatic sunrise, but there was nothing but thick clouds. I had to grab my tripod and run off from two huge breaking waves behind me before I finally got this one. Next good sunset/rise, I am going to head back out here and see what I can get,

Another great add to ur glorious portfolio Chris: this is awesome. The cold lightening make again the photo here and the composition is just perfect. I feel like to be there standing on that rock looking to the sea and hearing the wind in to my face. WEll done!
