I don't know what kind of tree this was on - either a conifer or cyprus of some sort. Please enlighten me if you know. The flower is about 1 inch tall.
Hi Bruce. This pink whatever it is was taken at the National Rhododendron Gardens at Olinda, in the Dandenongs on the outskirts of Melbourne, Australia. This garden is a few kilometers (!!) from end to end. It's truly a treasure as far as gardens go in Australia. I gather you've at least travelled parts of Aus from your photos - that you may even live in Aus. Next time I'm there I'll see if I can talk to one of the Rangers to identify this tree. Cheers,Ed
